Walmart Adds Price Comparison And Rebate Feature To Mobile Shopping App

Walmart added the Savings Catcher feature to its mobile app, allowing shoppers to scan the code on their Walmart receipt. Within 72 hours after the receipt is scanned, Walmart checks the products purchased and compares the prices with those offered by rival retailers. Consumers will receive a Walmart Rewards eGift Card as rebate if a lower price is offered by another retailer. Aside from highlighting Walmart’s cheaper prices, the program also encourages shoppers to return to a Walmart store.
