Russia Plans To Create Unified E-Commerce Platform For Connecting Local Manufacturers With Foreign Buyers

April 8, 2016: 12:00 AM EST
Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development said it has developed a plan for integrating the country’s e-commerce, in the process creating a unified platform for linking up Russian manufacturers with foreign buyers. In December 2015, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed the creation of an office that would oversee the implementation of large-scale economic projects. This proposed office would also cover efforts to provide local producers with access to global markets via online platforms.
