Northern Europe's Online Market Posts Strong Growth Numbers

In Northern Europe, online sales of goods and services reached €33.2 billion in 2013 and forecast to rise to €36.8 billion 2014, according to a report by Ecommerce Europe. Northern Europe, which includes Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway, accounts for 9.1 percent of the European market. Norway, with total online sales of €8.9 billion, is the largest e-commerce market in the region, followed by Sweden with €8.6 billion. Demark was ranked third with online sales recorded at €8.3 billion, while Finland recorded €6.6, giving it the fourth place in terms of online sales. Iceland and the Baltic States, although posting the lowest online sales figures in 2013, recorded growth rates ranging between 15 percent and 30 percent.
