Digital Payment Systems Gain Growing Acceptance In Germany, Study Reveals

In Germany, digital payment platforms, such as PayPal and giropay, are becoming popular among males and consumers ages 40 and up, according to Creditreform Boniversum and the Bundesverband E-Commerce und Versandhandel. Data revealed the number of users of traditional payment methods declined from 61 percent of respondents in January 2015 to 57 percent in January 2016. In contrast, the share of respondents using digital payment methods grew from 39 percent to 43 percent during the same period.
